 A WCB Swing Hard Slam Nozzle Check Valve, also known as a check valve, is a valve that allows fluid or gas to flow in one direction only. It consists of a swing arm hinged on one side of the valve body and a disc-shaped valve element attached to the other end of the swing arm. When the pressure on the upstream side of the valve exceeds the pressure on the downstream side, the valve opens, allowing one-way flow, and when the pressure on the downstream side exceeds the pressure on the upstream side, the valve closes, preventing backflow.  WCB Swing Hard Slam Nozzle Check Valves are commonly used in oil and gas systems to prevent fluid or gas from flowing in the wrong direction, which could damage equipment or create a safety hazard.
